Look at Paula’s pretty fabric! I was so excited when Sarah told me Flights of Fancy had arrived and I knew just what I was going to make with it.

If you look closely at the picture, you’ll see it. Could it be? Is that another quilt top?

Hee hee! It is! Can you blame me? The pattern is from a magazine called “Quick Quilts.” It’s like it was written just for me. Although I think “quick” is a relative term — not that it took an enormous amount of time but it wasn’t an hour’s work, either.

Actually, the biggest part of putting it together was laying out the blocks and making sure it looked OK. I learned a big lesson from this one, which was “have more variety in my fabrics.” I only chose two prints for the small-print blocks and three colors of each print. I really needed more variety. Oh, well. It’s a learning process.

I’m really loving the fabrics, too. I didn’t get to spend enough time with them at Market — just long enough to know that they were a total knockout and I couldn’t wait to play. I’ve got tons of ideas that I’m mulling around for cute spring and summer outfits to make with them. They’re just so happy, if fabric can be happy. LOL!

I LOVE that quilt top!! I just showed it to my husband say “now that’s a quilt I wouldn’t mind having around the house”. I think having less variety makes for a really interesting change.

I’m definitely going to check out that book as I have TONS of smallish scraps from my grandmothers and great grandmothers quilting stash I must use up for something. My grandmother past away 2 months ago and I received all the fabric! This looks like the perfect project to use up scraps and make a few quilts for the kids.

Okay, I see now that it’s not a book but a magazine, which issue was it from Quick Quilts? Thanks
