Saturday Night Ramble II
The meanderings of an overtired girl after a long day …
• My Alice style Crocs are cute but definitely not the shoes to wear when I’m going to be standing in a classroom at the quilt shop all day.
• I’ve only flipped through them but the Portabellopixie patterns that hit my mailbox today were definitely worth the wait. As soon as my sample set and orders are done, I’m all over them.
• Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice cream is not as good as I remember it. Should have gone for the Imagine Whirled Peace.
• It never fails to tickle me that the church’s annual Oktoberfest includes copious amounts of beer and wine. Add a polka band and men in lederhosen for an event you’ll never forget.
• For the first time in my life, I’m having pleasant conversations about politics with my father. Somehow I think I should be more concerned than I am.
• Does my daughter really think I can’t see her run past me into the dining room? She’s not that quiet nor that subtle.
• Why does one cat think the hairball meds are the best treat ever while the other acts like I’m trying to poison her?
• I do not have a problem with growing older but is it really necessary for my insurance company to send me a card with birthday greetings and a reminder about buying life insurance?
• If that weren’t enough of an insult, my gray hair count has quadrupled in the past three days — and has spread.
• Wondering if dying my hair dark red will make me look like I’m either trying to cover my gray or act half my age.
• The 14-year-old girl in my class today thought I was in my 20s. I think she may be my new best friend.
