More Fall Dresses

I’ve been having lots of fun with Katie’s Round-Neck Top pattern, which includes directions for making it into a dress. It just sews up so quickly and wears easily for my little preschooler.
While my previous corduroy incarnation included pockets, the dress on the left does not yet have them and I’m still waffling. Oh, but I do love it in that soft baby cord! I used two prints I found at Joann’s, a black-with-white polka dots and a cute Forest Friends print. Just so stinkin’ cute! I think I may need to make a purse for myself with those little animals!
The dress on the right features Michael Miller’s Pod Posey fabrics. It was love at first fondle with that bold border print, and I had just enough of the scattered flowers to make the neckbands. If you look closely at her right shoulder, you can see the safety pin holding the strap closed. My darling daughter decided to rip off the button, for no reason at all. Little nut.
Lots more to show but that requires pictures and will have to wait until Monday, since Honey and I are headed to Dragon*con tomorrow. And that, my friends, will require a post and photo album all it’s own.

Mariel! How are you? I have missed you!

Hmmm,..I would say to secure the buttons more so she can’t rip them off. I LOVE the flower dress. I am sure you got the fabric another time, but if you got it this season let me know, I think I need a skirt in that fabric or a bag or something. It rocks!

It’s a current fabric, Heather, so you should be able to find it. I think J. Caroline Creative has (had) it. Give me a holler if you have trouble locating it because I think there’s still some on the bolt at the shop and I can snag some for you when I run over next week.
And, yeah, I got sew her buttons on better. She likes to yank at them when she’s sleepy.

My oldest two daughters are sitting her with me, oohing and ahhing at the screen at your creations. They are so impressed! And not just with your sewing skills and design, but also your photography–and then they are just squealing at how adorable Little Miss is–so your ears should be burnin’!
Blessings!

Oh, I was just at JoAnn’s last night and saw that little forest corduroy! I couldn’t think of anything to make myself out of it, clothing wise…but a purse would be wonderful! The dresses are lovely though…buttons or no.

Anywhere and everywhere! I shop a great deal locally at Joann’s ETC, Hancock Fabrics, Hobby Lobby and my local quilt shop, Intown Quilters (it’s fabulous and I’m not just saying that because I teach there). I also shop online at J. Caroline Creative, Fabrichound, Sewzanne’s, Crybaby’s, The Fabric Fairy, SewMamaSew, Banberry Place, Repro Depot, Superbuzzy and PurlSoho. Plus Etsy and Ebay.

Wouldn’t it, though? It’s really just too cute and I figure I can give myself a little more leeway in the cutesy fabric department when it comes to purses.

How adorable! I just saw that floral fabric at Meg’s (brassyapple.blogspot.com)–she’s selling some of her stash at $5.25/yard and she’s got 8 yards of it (as of 1 o’clock EST today!!
As always, LOVE the dresses! You have such an eye for combining fabrics to suit the patterns you use. BRAVO!

Wow, I’m soooo far behind on my blog reading. Look at all the wonderful posts I’ve missed. I’ve been pretty busy lately and I have lots of catching up to do.
Your daughter is adorable as always and I love this little jumper. Those slippers further down in your other post are fun too. Great projects!
