Milestones

I’m finding that I’m having a hard time with these later milestones. The early ones — walking, talking, self feeding — were so exciting to me. I looked forward to each and every one, always eagerly anticipating the next.
Today was perhaps one of the scariest milestones to date: My oldest child took his driving test.
I have been dreading this day and have put it off as long as possible. It finally dawned on me a couple of weeks ago that his learner’s permit was approaching two years old. Lo and behold, it was set to expire May 8. No more procrastinating; I registered him for an online driver’s ed course and made an appointment for his driver’s license testing.
He passed. With a 96.
Watch out, world. There’s a new driver in town. And he knows how to use those turn signals.

I love your new site! Great banner!
I remember how scary it was for the kids to get their license. I didn’t sleep for days beforehand!

My son will be driving soon too!
I am holding him to the “B” average…to be able to drive It is going to happen if I like it or not!
Hang in there. Sure is hard to see them grow up!

OK - I just realized that I hadn’t subscribed to your new feed. I was just wondering why you hadn’t been blogging and it was me all along. So, here I am catching up now - love the pics of your SIL and congrats on your driver!

I’m just trying not to think about those dreaded teenage years… time sure does pass quickly. It’s so hard to let go, isn’t it? It looks like you’ve raised a fine young mine. I pray that I will do the same.
Please check out my new blog this week - I just made my first pair of Jackie Clark’s Britches and Bloomers and I gave you a plug. It’s only fair. After all, it was your great review that inspired me to purchase the pattern.
Thanks! I love the pattern!!!
